Holy cats the number of people that think an expensive car should have a spare is mind nubbing. Like wealthy people would even use it, they have roadside assitance and wheels are stupid heavy. Spares are the stupidest use of $15 and 15 kg hanging off the ass of a car and belong in economy cars and work vehicles.

and if you think you may ever be too far from service, or out of your roadside coverage, thats when you check for your spare, but we live in 'merica so, you know, thats basically a non issue.

Okay...

You're wrong. But if that's your opinion it's cool, I guess.

Spares are awesome. Mine is full-sized on a brand new rim. None of that black steelie shit with a tire that can't go over 50mph.

That's your opinion.

Better than a BMW...they give you a spare...and a jack that looks like it came out of a Cracker Jack box.

Not any more, they don't. BMW was an early adopter of run flats, both in their cars & Minis.

Reminds me of the time I saw a Bentley going 80 on the freeway with a 55mph rated donut. The donut was painted red, I guess to make sure we all knew to stay away from that asshat.

I have an Abarth - a spare tire isn't even an option. I'd be pretty screwed if I got a flat, but I try not to worry about things that happen so rarely.

I guess I'm just old school. lol

After I sold my E46 I haven't had a car with a spare...I had three Miatas, and I'd rather have trunk space than spare. I carried an air pump and a tire repair kit. Never used the tire repair kit until a made a highly questionable 'took three plugs to fill the hole' repair to one of my Bronco's surplus army Hummer tires so I could drive it a couple miles to the tire shop to get new tires.

I am too. I work on the things, and the run flats ride & wear terribly. I have an E46 too, and am quite happy to have the spare occupying the otherwise useless space around the Evap canister. Most drivers can't be bothered or trusted to change a wheel anymore.

I do carry a Slime repair & compressor kit in my F150 though, because any place that ends up with a flat is unlikely to be jack friendly.

I think anyplace is unlikely to be jack friendly with that BMW jack...lol

I'd ditch the slime for the truck and get one of these kits:

Slime makes a huge mess of the inside of your tire.

I actually have customers come in on a daily basis who installed their own spare tires. Lots of my customers are the types of people who hate letting other people do things for them that they're perfectly capable of doing themselves. No bullshit, just get it donee type of people. I also have lots of customers who are the perfect antithesis to that of course.
